ABOUT US

The Institute for Mindfulness South Africa (IMISA) is a leading NPO dedicated to mindfulness training, practice, and the ethical sharing of mindfulness-based approaches. Established in 2007, our mission is to cultivate mindfulness in ways that are context-sensitive, trauma-aware, inclusive, and grounded in integrity.

Our leadership team comprises experienced practitioners in mindfulness, medicine, trauma work, psychology, and related fields, bringing both academic and lived experience. The team is deeply committed to reflection, supervision, and staying aligned with international best practices in trauma-sensitive mindfulness-based interventions.
