IMISA Training Pathway and Courses
IMISA previously offered a two-year Certificate in Mindfulness Teaching in collaboration with Stellenbosch University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Building on this strong foundation, we have now expanded our programmes to serve participants at all levels of experience in mindfulness practice and teaching.
Our offerings weave together trauma-informed practices, indigenous wisdom, and embodied mindfulness, responding to the needs of a diverse and evolving global mindfulness field.
IMISA’s programmes fall into two broad categories:
- Mindfulness Training Pathway
This pathway supports those wishing to deepen their personal practice and develop the skills required for facilitating mindfulness-based approaches.
Participants may exit at any stage, and will receive a certificate for the level completed. - Exploratory and Deepening Short Courses
These courses are designed to broaden and deepen understanding and experience of mindfulness, offering opportunities for personal growth, continuing professional development, and community connection.
IMISA is committed to contextually relevant, socially engaged, and deeply human approaches to mindfulness.
Our learning environment is grounded in mutual respect, inclusion, and possibility, inviting all who participate to explore mindfulness as a way of living with awareness, compassion, and wisdom.
