IMISA Training

We are in the process of reflection and reconfiguration of the previous 2-year Stellenbosch University certification training in mindfulness-based interventions, in order to make it more accessible and affordable, with an even stronger emphasis on context and trauma sensitivity.

As such, we have taken a pause after completion of the current training cycle in June 2023 in order to reconfigure the new iteration and develop the new curriculum.

Please note that we will no longer be offering the 2-year Stellenbosch University certification training in mindfulness-based interventions.

The new tiered approach to training will enable participants to share and teach mindfulness practices and we aim to widen our relevance as the training becomes more context-sensitive, trauma-sensitive, diverse and accessible.

Introductory Tier

The introductory tier will be an optional 4week training for those who have not previously completed an 8week mindfulness-based or mindfulness-informed course.

First Tier

The first tier will enable participants to share mindfulness practices within their contexts.

Second Tier

The second tier will be more intensive and will allow participants to teach mindfulness-based or mindfulness-informed programmes.

We plan to commence training the introductory tier towards the end of 2023, the first tier at the beginning of 2024 and the second tier later in 2024.

Please email Lynne Gordon. IMISA operations officer, on lynne@mindfulness.org.za , if you would like to be kept informed of costs, dates and course content.
