I express my eternal thanks and gratitude to IMISA for granting me a bursary to do this trauma-sensitive mindfulness-based training.
The concepts and practices in the mindfulness training were the most informative and enjoyable. The Zoom meetings and mentor group meetings were highly interactive and informative.
The tutors and mentors were the kindest and most gentle beings. They imparted the knowledge with a deep sense of wisdom and knowing. There was a deep connection with the students and the tutors and mentors.
This training was a transformative process in my life. I have learnt invaluable techniques on how to still the wandering mind. I also learnt about loving and kindness to myself and to other being and animals and birds.
The impressions left by the training will remain in my heart forever. Words will not be able to express my thanks to IMISA for making this training available to me.
I will like to wish IMISA immense success with their training. Mindfulness training and awareness training is an essential part of our lives.
I encourage all individuals, especially health and allied health professionals to do this wonderful life transformative training.

IMISA Tier One Training feedback from Dominic Vertue
Taking part in the IMISA Tier One Training in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness has honestly been such a life-changing experience. Each week was held with so much care and thoughtfulness, gently guiding me deeper into the practices of embodiment, attunement, and relationality not just as ideas, but as real, lived experiences that now influence how I show up in the world.
The theme of embodiment really struck a chord with me. Learning to be more present in my body with awareness and kindness helped me reconnect with a sense of inner steadiness and wisdom. I have realised how much the body knows about emotions, intuition, and presence and how mindfulness becomes so much richer when it’s grounded in that awareness.
Attunement was another big turning point. With the guidance of the facilitators and through practising together as a group, I learned what it really means to listen to myself, to others, and to the subtle space that connects us. Attunement has become a way of being for me, a reminder that mindfulness isn’t just about what’s happening inside, but also about how I meet life and people with sensitivity and care.
The focus on relationality tied everything together. Practising mindfulness in community made me truly feel how deeply connected we all are. The group sessions and mentor meetings were such special spaces of genuine presence. I felt seen and supported and also had the chance to offer that same mindful attention to others. Those moments were incredibly meaningful.
The teachers and facilitators were amazing. The way they held space with warmth, clarity, and authenticity created a real sense of trust. They embodied mindfulness in such a human way: compassionate, attuned, and real.
The final assignment, where I got to share my own mindfulness practices, was the perfect way to bring everything together. It helped me integrate what I’d learned and express mindfulness not just as something I do, but as something I am. Sharing with others felt both vulnerable and empowering, and it really showed me how much I have grown since the start of the course.
This course has genuinely changed the way I live, listen, and relate. I feel so grateful for the teachers, the community, and the learning that keeps unfolding. It wasn’t just a course it was a real journey of transformation, and its ripple effects are still flowing through my life.

IMISA Tier One Training feedback from Owen Mdledle

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the 10-week trauma-sensitive mindfulness in context journey. It has been a truly transformative and deeply rewarding experience that offered me the space to explore the questions that first led me to IMISA, while profoundly deepening my daily practice. The programme’s gentle, supportive, and nourishing approach resonated deeply with my soul and aligns with what I hope to share with the world — particularly with school teachers. As a grateful recipient of the IMISA Tier 1 Bursary, I have gained greater somatic awareness and embodied understanding, allowing for deeper self-attunement, self-compassion, and connection with others. The insights, research, and safe, beautifully held space have enriched both my personal and professional growth. With deep respect and appreciation for the facilitators, mentors, and fellow learners, I carry forward the true spirit of Ubuntu and remain sincerely thankful for this transformative experience.
